Greg Steube

Greg Steube is a Republican who has won a seat in the US House of Representatives in Florida’s 17th Congressional District. He has previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.

About Greg Steube

Greg was born in Bradenton, Florida in 1978 and currently lives in Sarasota, Florida with his wife and his son.

Education

He received his Bachelor of Science in Beef Cattle Sciences and a minor in Agricultural Law from the University of Florida in 2000. He then went on to earn his JD, at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law in 2003.

Military Career

After he finished law school, Greg enlisted in the US Army after the September 11th attacks and served for four years. While he was in the Army he spent one year as a commissioned Airborne Infantry Officer and three years in the US Army JAG Corps, serving as a Captain with the 25th Infantry Division in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

During his time in the service he earned the Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Bar, and the Parachutist Badge.

Work Experience

Greg Steube has work experience in the areas of government law, public private partnerships, real estate and corporate litigation, condominium and homeowner association litigation, agricultural law and family and martial law. He has served as criminal trial counsel, as Chief of Detainee Operations, a legal assistance attorney, and an administrative law attorney.

His work experience includes, working as an attorney at Macfarlane Ferguson and McMullen, P.A. from 2008-2009, working as an attorney at Najmy Thompson, P.L. from 2009-2011, and working as an attorney at Becker and Poliakoff, P.A. from 2011 to 2017.

Greg Steube has been working in politics since being elected to the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 67 in 2010, and District 73 in 2012. In 2016 he was elected to serve in the Florida Senate, representing District 23. He also worked as an intern in the United States House of Representatives in 2000.

Veterans’ Issues

When it comes to his upcoming service in the US House of Representatives, veterans issues are important to him. He believes that if we can’t take care of veterans, we have lost our country. He wants leaders who hold the VA accountable and give veterans the care that they deserve. He has sponsored numerous bills that lower taxes and provide a greater quality of life for Florida’s veterans. 2nd Amendment, Immigration, and Pro Life issues are also important to him. He can bring his military, law, and agricultural experience to the job.

Greg Steube won against Democrat April Freeman-Alleen Ellison in Florida’s 17th Congressional District.
