Streaming Services Discounts For Students

From music to television to podcasts, there are so many different streaming services to sign up for these days. If you are a student, you will want to take advantage of these streaming services that offer a student discount.

Amazon Prime

With Amazon, you can find Prime Student. With Prime Student, you can receive a six-month free subscription that includes free two-day shipping, access to Prime with tv shows and movies, unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos, 20% off pre-orders and new release video games, and other deals and savings. After six months, you would only pay 50% off your membership. You would need to verify your student status.

In addition, Prime students can add Showtime for $.99/month for 12 months and then $10.99/month after that year is over.

Spotify, Hulu, and Showtime

Spotify is a digital music service, and Hulu is a movie and tv streaming service. Showtime will also be included. Spotify has Premium Student, lasting one year at a time, up to four years. The discount is for students at an accredited college or university, verified by Sheer ID. You would pay the reduced rate of $4.99/month for all three services.

Hulu

As of Jan 2021, Hulu announced that it’s dropping its on-demand service price to $1.99 / month. Students over 18, attending a college or university in the US are eligible. This is more than 65% off the standard $5.99 per month price tag.

Students would be able to access Hulu’s library of movies, TV shows, and Hulu originals.

Apple Music

With Apple Music, you can receive a discounted monthly rate for up to 48 months. With your year of Apple Music, you will also receive Apple TV + for a limited time. In order to receive this discount, you need to be enrolled in a degree-granting university or college. You would need to be studying and working towards a bachelor’s degree, post-graduate degree, or equivalent.

Audible

They do not seem to offer a current student discount. 

With Audible you can have access to audiobooks, for school, or for recreation. New members can join for $9.95 a month. You can save over 30% and receive a $10 Amazon.com credit. You must be a verified US student with a UNiDAYS membership.

Pandora

Pandora is another music streaming service. Students can receive 50% off Panera Premium for up to four years. Also, they can also receive up to 60 days free. Students must be at an accredited higher education institution in the US. Then, after 60 days, you would pay $4.99 a month.

Sirius XM

Sirius XM is an American broadcasting company that will give students three months, for $1 with a new premier subscription. After that, you would pay $4.00 a month. You would need to verify your student status with Sheer ID.

CBS All Access

With CBS All Access you can have access to many different CBS tv shows, original content, and more. They offer a 25% student discount if you sign up with your .edu account. This applies to the limited commercial subscription option.

YouTube Music

YouTube Music is a music streaming service by YouTube. They offer students a one-month free trial and then you would pay $4.99 a month after that. You would need to verify and re-verify your student status each year.

Tidal

Tidal is a subscription-based music, podcast, and video streaming service that combines lossless audio and high-definition music videos with exclusive content and special features. They offer a 50% student discount on their subscription tiers to eligible college and high school students who are 16 years or older. Each new sign-up also includes a 30-day trial. Student Premium will then be $4.99 a month, and Student HiFi will be $9.99 a month. They would verify with Sheer ID.
