A Degree in Chemistry is more than just STEM!  Although a great proportion of Chemistry majors will seek out jobs and further education in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), it is important to note that a Degree in Chemistry provides students with an educational foundation to succeed in any career they choose.

Students may choose to focus on theoretical and/or applied science studies. Applied science studies tend to be more ”hands on” and is an excellent path for students seeking to work in laboratories, developing new products, etc. A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is ideal for applied science studies. Students that wish to use their Chemistry Degree for other related fields of study and careers may be better suited in a theoretical pathway and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry.

Students that earn a Degree in Chemistry are well rounded, critical thinkers that have a wide variety of career opportunities including:

  • Atmospheric Science
  • Environmental Quality (air, water, and soil)
  • Academia
  • Research
  • Forensic science
  • Toxicology
  • Pharmacology
  • Analytical chemistry
  • Chemical engineering
