William Timmons: Veteran, Congressman from South Carolina
William Timmons is a Republican who has won a seat in the US House of Representatives in South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District. He has been involved in politics for a few years now, serving as a state senator for District 6 in South Carolina.
About William Timmons
Timmons was born in 1984 in Greenville, South Carolina and currently lives in Greenville.
Education
He receive his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Political Science in 2006 from George Washington University with the Elliott School of International Affairs. He then went on to earn a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of South Carolina in 2009 and his JD in 2010 from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Military Experience
William Timmons doesn’t have as much military experience as many of the other freshman congress members we have listed, but he currently serves as a First Lieutenant in the South Carolina Army National Guard as a JAG officer that is assigned to the 263rd Army Air Missile Defense Command in Anderson, South Carolina. He was Commissioned earlier in 2018.
Civilian Career
Timmons is an attorney and an entrepreneur as well as a state senator. He worked as an Assistant Solicitor for the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s office from 2011-2015 where he prosecuted crimes including murder, white-collar crime and domestic violence. He helped create a centralized domestic violence court for domestic violence cases in Greenville County after he became concerned that domestic violence victims were not being well-served by the court’s process. He has worked as a member of the South Carolina District Court from 2013 to the present, as well as a member of the 4th Circuit of Appeals during the same time frame. As far as being an entrepreneur goes, he owns multiple small businesses which include, Swamp Rabbit CrossFit, Soul Yoga, and Timmons & Company, LLC.
In 2016, William Timmons won a seat in the state Senate when he defeated Senator Mike Fair in District 6 in South Carolina.
Political Issues
As an entrepreneur, attorney and state senator, he can bring his experience to his seat in the US House of Representatives. He wants to stop illegal immigration, make DC accountable, rebuild our military, stop the waste, support the 2nd amendment, and protect life during his time in office according to his website. He believes that the US Armed Forces must be given the resources they need to do their jobs. He will always stand with the men and women who have served in the military and will make sure that every veteran gets the benefits and medical care that they are entitled to.
William Timmons won against Democrat Brandon Brown and American Party candidate, Guy Furay in South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District.
