One benefit of being a USAA member is having funds available early. Find the standard military pay dates and USAA pay dates below.
Receive Military Pay Early with USAA
If you bank with USAA, you may be paid early. Typically, you may have access as early as one business day before your regular payday, but your experience may vary.
Sometimes you will receive your pay on a Friday when the regular military payday is Monday. However, the USAA official site does issue a caveat. “We try to deposit your funds one to two days before your payday, but it can vary based on when your employer or payer sends us your pay details.”
USAA Pay Dates 2025
USAA offers “early access” to Direct Deposit. This feature is offered to all USAA members, and the company “will make funds available to you as payment information is provided to us by your employer or other payers, typically one to two days early.”
Many categories of eligible direct deposits may qualify. They include military pay, government benefits, standard payroll, and pensions. You must have Direct Deposit to qualify.

Retiree Payment Dates 2025
If you need alerts from USAA on early payment of retiree benefits, you can sign up for emailed or text alerts. This can be set to report all deposits, including early access to retirement funds. Adjust your preferences in the “Delivery Settings” section of the USAA My Profile and Preferences page.

It is very important to remember that early access to pay isn’t always guaranteed. The USAA official site reminds customers, “Some employers or other payers may not always send payment notifications at the same time each pay cycle.” Your experience may vary depending on the payer, time of year, and other factors.
