List of Scholarships for Mechanical Engineer Majors
If you are majoring in mechanical engineering or a similar major, you are going to want to find ways to help pay for school. Luckily, there are plenty of scholarships out there. Here is a list of scholarships for veterans (and non-military) majoring in mechanical engineering that can help pay for tuition and expenses for students who qualify.
$2,000 PixelPlex Bi-annual STEM Scholarship
One recipient, $2,000
The Details: This scholarship was established to help support and inspire students and to help them pursue further education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, which are STEM subjects, as well as economics and business.

American Association of Blacks in Energy Scholarship (AABE)
Multiple recipients, $3,000-$5,000
The Details: This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who intend to enroll next semester in an accredited college and university pursuing a business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Students must also be underrepresented minorities such as African-American, Hispanic, or Native American. There will be 12 $3,000 scholarships and one $5,000 scholarship that is renewable for up to four years.

AREMA Educational Foundation Scholarships
Multiple recipients, $1,000-$2,500
The Details: This scholarship is for engineering students specializing in railway engineering. Students must have completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited 4 or 5-year engineering or engineering technology at the undergraduate or graduate level. There are many AREMA scholarships, such as the CSX Scholarship, which is $1,000, the New York Central Railroad Memorial Scholarship, for $1,000 and many are location-based.

Association for Iron and Steel Technology Scholarship (AIST)
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This scholarship is awarded to talented and dedicated students to help encourage them to pursue careers within the iron and steel-related industries. Winners will receive a complimentary student membership in AIST. They have four main categories of scholarships and internships. Each award can have its own amounts, guidelines, and application requirements. Through AIST you can find Steel internships and scholarships, member chapter scholarships, Don B.Daily Safety Steel internships and scholarships, Endowment scholarships, and Lewis and Elizabeth Yang scholarships.

The Berto Diaz Engineering Scholarship
Multiple recipients, $1,000
The Details: This scholarship is for high school seniors entering a 4-year mechanical engineering program. It was established in memory of Roberto Ugo Diaz.

GeneTex Scholarship
One recipient, $2,000
The Details: This scholarship program will award a $2,000 scholarship to students pursuing a STEM undergraduate or graduate degree. Students must be in good standing at an accredited college or university with a declared STEM major.

Julie A. Keil Woman in Hydro Scholarship Fund
One recipient, $3,000
The Details: This is an education scholarship fund program for women who are enrolled in an accredited college or university and majoring in a disciple relevant to entering the hydropower industry. The award is based on merit and financial need. They also provide grants to women who plan to enter the hydropower industry to assist in expenses to attend industry events.

Monterey Bay Officer Spouses Club Scholarship Award
Multiple recipients, $1,000
The Details: This is a merit-based scholarship available to military dependents of active duty, retired, or deceased military members that are living in the Monterey County area or military dependents of Naval Postgraduate School alumni living anywhere. Selection is based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and essays. Students need to be seeking a degree in a STEM field. They also must be an MBSC member, an immediate family member of an MBOSC member, an immediate family member of any active duty, retired, or deceased military member in the Monetary Bay area, or be a dependent of someone in NSA Monterey, NPS, POM, DLFIC, FNMOC, the Coast Guard, or any alumni from a military post on the Monterey Peninsula. They can be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, at a full-time or part-time level.

The SME Educational Foundation (Society of Manufacturing Engineers)
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This foundation awards scholarships to current undergraduates pursuing a manufacturing career and matriculating in engineer-related courses at a 4-year college or university within the US or Canada. They have many different scholarships including students in mechanical engineering. Some of the scholarships are based on location. They have different amounts and qualifications.

George B. Hightower, P.E. Fellowship
One recipient, $3,000
The Details: This fellowship is for current engineering undergraduate or graduate students who are enrolled in or graduated from an ABET-accredited engineering program. Students must be an NSPE member or student member.

ASME Scholarship (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Foundation)
Multiple recipients, $10,000
The Details: This scholarship is a grant made to a student to enable or assist the student in pursuing an educational program in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology at the undergraduate or graduate level. Students must have an ASME student membership, and they must be accepted and enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited school for the entire academic year.

The AESF Foundation Scholarship
Multiple recipients, $1,500
The Details: This scholarship is available to undergraduates and graduates that are studying chemical engineering, material science or engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, environmental engineering, or chemistry. They also need to be in junior status or above when applying and senior status in the fall.
