Summer can be a nice and relaxing time, but before you know it, back-to-school season will be here. This means purchasing school supplies and getting ready for the new school year ahead. Here is a list of 10 back-to-school discounts for military and veteran students. Some of these companies just have student discounts, and some have both military and student discounts.

Back-To-School Discounts For Military and Veteran Students

Book Outlet

If you need to purchase some books, Book Outlet can be the place to go. They offer a 10% off student discount if you sign up with Student Beans to verify your student status.

ABBYY is a multinational software company that specializes in document capture and optical character recognition. They have a Student Savings Program with special discounts on software. For example, the ABBYY FineReader 12 Standard for EDU is normally $199.99 and with the student discount, it is $139.99.


JanSport is a great place to find a new backpack. They offer a 10% off student discount when you spend $55 online. You will need to have a Student Beans account.

A.C. Moore

A.C. Moore is an arts and crafts chain and can be a good place to find some school supplies. They offer a 15% off military discount when you present your military ID. In addition, they also have a college student discount when you show your ID. You can’t combine discounts with each other or with other coupons.


FŪL has luggage and backpacks. They offer an exclusive military discount for active duty, reservists, national guard, veterans, retirees, dependents and spouses. They can receive 35% off their online purchase. You will need to verify your military status and then you will receive a one time code. Their student discount is 35% off of luggage and backpacks.


With a new school year, you might want to buy some new shoes. Converse offers a 10% military discount to all active duty, reservist, veteran, and retired military personnel as well as for spouses and dependents. This can be used at or in-store. You would need to verify your eligibility with Sheer ID, then the discount will be applied. You can use this discount every time you shop but you would need to verify your eligibility each time. They also have a student discount for college and university students. It is also 10% off on and you would need to verify your student eligibility with Sheer ID.


Adobe is a computer software company with many different programs perfect for students. They have special student pricing where you can get 20 + apps, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign for just $19.99 a month for the first year. This is a discount of 60% off. For a military discount, you would need to use Veterans Advantage and would receive 15% off on Adobe’s Creative Cloud, which is the entire collection of Adobe’s desktop and mobile apps.

Pottery Barn Teen

Pottery Barn Teen can be a great place to find decor for a dorm room, or just to update your bedroom. They have a 15% off military discount for all active duty and retired military and their families. This discount is available in-store, for in-stock items to exclude any clearance items that end in .97 or .99. You can also use this discount at Pottery Barn, and Pottery Barn Kids. They also have a student discount of 15% off with a .edu address, or a valid college ID.

Adidas Shoes

Adidas Shoes can be a good place to stock up for the new school year. They offer a 15% off student discount as well as free shipping. You will need to register and verify your student status.

Best Buy

Whether you need a new phone, a new computer, or other devices for the new school year, Best Buy has special deals for students. You would need to create a Best Buy account, sign up for student deals, then you will start to receive offers. For example, you can save $400 on select MacBook models, $80 on a select Lenovo laptop, or $50 off a Surface laptop and tablets.

While it might seem like summer will last forever, it won’t. Make sure to keep these discounts in mind as you start your back to school shopping.
