Scholarships for Electrical Engineering Majors
By majoring in electrical engineering, you would be working towards a career path that will have you designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment. When it comes to paying for school, you can also find major-specific scholarships to apply for. Here is a list of those for electrical engineering or similar majors.
BMW/SAE Engineering Scholarship
One recipient, $1,500
The Details: This scholarship is provided by BMW in recognition of its commitment to excellence in engineering. Students need to be pursuing an engineering or related science degree through an ABET-accredited program.

Anne Maureen Whitney Barrow Memorial Scholarship
One recipient, $9,000
The Details: This scholarship is sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers and is open to women freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior college students who are majoring in engineering. They must be planning to study at an ABET-accredited program, studying full-time. They also can’t be fully funded by another source.

Widespread Electrical Sales: STEM Scholarship
Their scholarship does not appear to still be active.
One recipient, $8,000
The Details: This scholarship is for any full-time student who is currently enrolled in a STEM program at any college, university, or vocational school. It is for $500 to be used towards tuition or another school expense.

Betty Weatherford, KQ6RE, Memorial Scholarship
One recipient, $1,000
The Details: This scholarship is for those going into the field of electrical or communications engineering. Students would need to have an active Amateur Radio Licence class license as well.

VADM Jon L. Boyes Scholarship
One recipient, $3,000
The Details: This scholarship is a $3,000 memorial scholarship to honor Vice-admiral Boyes’ memory and accomplishments. The award will go to a Navy ROTC midshipman that is majoring in electrical engineering, at least a 2nd-year college student, and enrolled full-time as a sophomore or junior at the time of application.

Study.com Graduate Engineering Degree Scholarship
One recipient, $500
The Details: This scholarship is from Study.com for a graduate student studying engineering. Open to most engineering types of degrees.

Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
Multiple recipients, $10,000
The Details: This scholarship from Lockheed Martin is for high school seniors or current freshmen or sophomores in college. They must be going to school full-time at an accredited 4-year college or university, majoring in different fields of engineering, including electrical, as well as computer science, math, physics, and information systems. Students will also need to demonstrate financial need. Those who have demonstrated leadership capabilities, those at a Lockheed Martin partner institution, and those who have a compelling personal story, or family circumstances such as being a member of a military family may have preference.

The ASCO Engineering Scholarship
Two recipients, $5,000
The Details: This scholarship is funded by Emerson and is to reward exceptional undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career in manufacturing and processing engineering. Two $5,000 awards will be given to US engineering students that are pursuing careers in industrial automation-related disciplines. The scholarship is merit-based and awarded based on the candidate’s potential for leadership. Recipients might be eligible for an internship. Students must have completed their sophomore year in a bachelor’s program or be enrolled in a graduate program.

Edward D. Hendrickson/SAE Engineering Scholarship
One recipient, $5,000
The Details: This scholarship is established by Hendrickson International and honors the late Edward D. Hendrickson, who was a pioneer in the commercial vehicle industry. Students will need to be ranked in the 90th percentile in both math and critical reading on SAT I or their composite ACT scores. They also must be pursuing an engineering or related science degree through an ABET-accredited program.

Girls in STEM (GIS) Scholarship
One recipient, $500
The Details: This scholarship is for those who have a strong passion for the inclusion of girls and women in the STEM fields and hope to work in a STEM-related job. Students will need to be studying in a STEM-related field, have a financial need, and a proven history of advocacy for the participation of girls in STEM programs and demonstrated community involvement.

BluePay STEM Scholarship
One recipient, $1,000 + two recipients, $250
The Details: This scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in a STEM field of study and who are attending an accredited college or University. There will be one $1,000 scholarship awarded, and two $250 book scholarships awarded. The featured essays may be published in part or entirely on the BluePay blog. The scholarship is for students pursuing degrees in STEM disciplines.
