Economics is the study of how societies and markets distribute resources which includes raw materials, land, human labor, and capital in order to create goods and services. Here is a list of scholarships for those majoring in economics.
Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship
One recipient, $1,000
The Details: This scholarship was established in honor of Liang-Lin Hsiao who was a professor of economics at Indiana State University. It is open to a graduate student attending a US-based college or university. Pursuing a graduate degree in social sciences. Economics is preferred but not required. There is also a preference for Asian heritage though not required.

Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation
Multiple recipients, $20,000
The Details: This scholarship is to encourage students from Hawaii to work towards a career in business. The award is based on academic standing, leadership ability, financial need, and a commitment to pursue a career in business. Winners will receive $20,000 over four years.

Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship won’t be offered in 2023.
Multiple recipients, $5,000
The Details: This scholarship is by the DAR and is for two college juniors or seniors who are enrolled in an accredited college or university in the US. They must be pursuing a major in political science, history, government, or economics.

The Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This scholarship is for high school seniors who have participated in the Stock Market game in MD or VA or sophomores or juniors who are majoring in business, finance, or economics at a college or university in MD, VA, or Washington DC. There will be two $2,000 scholarships given out to high school students, and two $5,000 for college students.

The Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco
Multiple recipients, $10,000-$15,000
The Details: This scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate women who are juniors and seniors. They must be enrolled at the main physical campus of a Bay Area accredited college or university or be enrolled and be attending a school satellite campus located within 1 of 9 Bay Area counties in California and taking at least 80% of classes at a satellite campus. Students will also need to be following a course of study to attain a degree and pursue a career in finance or in the financial services industry. Undergraduates will receive $10,000 and graduate students will be $15,000.

E.C. Harwood Visiting Research Fellowships
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This fellowship is a paid economics fellowship for doctorates, and post-graduate students for those in the fields of economics, political science, philosophy, history, and law. Fellows will receive housing, lunch, and sometimes dinner, a $350/week stipend, and a $1,000 travel stipend if they live more than 300 miles from Great Barrington, MA, or if they will be there for 10 weeks or more. Visits are from 2-12 weeks.

Goldberg-Miller Public Finance Scholarship
Multiple Students, $20,000
The Details: This scholarship was previously called the Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship and is funded by the Girard Miller Foundation. The scholarship is open to full-time graduate students who are pursuing an advanced degree and have a relationship with state and local government finance.
