Nursing Scholarships
A nursing degree can be a great degree to pursue. There are different levels of nursing from earning your LPN to a graduate degree. There are also many different types of nursing to go into, anything from labor and delivery, ER, or surgical, and more. No matter what type of nursing you pursue, being able to earn extra money for school can be helpful. Here is a list of scholarships for those going into nursing.
ANSWER Scholarship
Multiple recipients, $2,500-$5,000
The Details: This scholarship is for nontraditional female students who are 25 years of age or older. They need to be the primary caregiver to at least one school-age child, ages Pre-K through 12th grade. They also need to be enrolled or accepted as a full-time, degree-seeking student at an accredited institution in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Catawba, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, or Union in North Carolina or Lancaster or York in South Carolina, working towards a two-year nursing degree, a two-year degree in CPCCs Health Careers Program or Information Technology. Winners will also need to be willing to participate in the Mentors for Mom Program. Award winners receive $2,500 for two years, and $5,000 for four years.

Nursing Incentive Scholarship Fund (NISF)
Multiple recipients, $3,000
The Details: This scholarship is for those who are Kentucky residents. Students must be attending approved LPN, ADN, BSN, or graduate nursing programs.

Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship
Multiple recipients, $2,500
The Details: This scholarship is for students who are accepted or enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Students must be a DAR member, a descendant of a DAR member, or eligible for membership in the DAR.

Mae and Mary Legacy Foundation
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This scholarship is for African American high school seniors going to a two or four-year school or technical school and pursuing careers in healthcare. The award is based on academic excellence and financial need.

The National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC SP) Awards
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This scholarship is for students pursuing eligible primary care health professions training. Winners will need to commit to providing primary care health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) for a minimum of two years of service.

Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship for Registered Nurses
Multiple recipients, Varies
The Details: This scholarship is for students enrolled in undergraduate nursing programs. They also need to be a resident of Virginia for at least one year. Students need to be accepted or enrolled as full or part-time students in an RN school of nursing in Virginia. They also need to show financial need. For every $2,000 earned, an award winner will need to give a year of full-time employment as a nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
