The Austin Women in Media Scholarship
Awards $5,000
Description: For college sophomores, juniors, and seniors studying media or a related field at a university in the Austin area (within a 40-mile radius from Austin) must be carrying at least 12 credit hours, have a minimum GPA of 3.25, and have a declared major in radio, television, film, digital media, public relations, advertising, marketing, communications, journalism or broadcasting.

The BAFTX Susan Howard Community Service Award
Awards $5,000
Description: For young adults who have shown initiative and tenacity in conceptualizing, initiating, and/or organizing a community service project. Applicants must be a resident of Texas or Great Britain, be between the ages of 11 and 21, and currently working on an inspiring community service project or have done so within the past 12 months. Consideration is partially based on financial need.

Fort Worth Scottish Rite Foundation Scholarships
Awards $1,500 (multiple awards)
Description: For Texas students who may or may not have any affiliation with the Scottish Rite but are graduating from a high school in one of the 33 counties served by the Fort Worth Scottish Rite and plan to begin, continue, or complete a 2-4 year post-secondary education or training program. The George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarship
Awards up to $20,000 over 4 years (multiple awards)
Description: For Houston area high school seniors who attend schools or are homeschooled in the following eight counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, or Waller who are applying for undergraduate study. These awards are based on academic standing and financial need. Minimum SAT composite score of 1000 (on the Math and Reading/Writing portions combined), and/or an ACT composite score of 21. All SAT and/or ACT scores must be from the same test date.

The Hellenic Professional Society of Texas Scholarships
Awards vary. (Multiple awards.)
Description: For qualified undergraduate and graduate full-time students. Applicants are eligible for a scholarship if they are currently attending or have been accepted by a college or university in Texas, have shown excellent scholastic performance in their corresponding field of study, and are of Hellenic heritage. High School students of Hellenic heritage who have been accepted to a University in Texas are also eligible to apply. The Society also accepts applications from students of non-Greek descent that have demonstrated clear, strong and sustained excellence in academic studies related to Greek letters or affairs.

The Hendrick Scholarship Foundation
$16,500
Description: For low-income Plano ISD high school seniors who persevered to overcome adversity, and who are motivated and academically capable of successfully earning a college degree. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, recent high school graduates of Plano ISD, have at least a 2.5 GPA and have demonstrated financial need. All students who receive funds are required to start school at Collin College. Once they have earned an associate degree, they may transfer to the university of their choice.

Mary E. Bivins Foundation Scholarships
Awards $3,500
Description: For Texas panhandle residents who are pursuing an upper-level undergraduate or graduate education leading to a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field that prepares the student to preach the Christian religion. Priority will be given to students intending to serve as pulpit pastors upon graduation. Must have a minimum 2.75 GPA

Mike Lozano Scholarship
Awards $2,500 (awarded over 2 semesters)
Description: For graduating high school senior athletes from the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required and students must be interested in pursuing a degree in education and/or coaching for the purpose of teaching and coaching at the high school level upon graduation from college.

Awards $5,000 per year for 4 years. Multiple awards.
Description: For graduates of Texas graduate of a Century Scholar school. (A list of schools is available on the scholarship website.) Minimum GPA 2.75.

The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP)
Awards vary. Two awards.
Description: For Texas high school seniors with the Distinguished Level of Achievement Plan or the International Baccalaureate Program; a 3.0 GPA and an ACT of 23 or SAT of 1070 who agree to complete four years of ROTC training, graduate no later than six years after the date first enrolled, enter into a four-year commitment to be a member of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, United States Coast Guard, or United States Merchant Marine or contract to serve as a commissioned officer in any branch of the armed services of the United States; and, repay the scholarship if the requirements are not met. Recipients must be appointed by the governor, lieutenant governor, state senator, or state representative.
