The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Multiple recipients, past awards up to $20,000

The Details: These are competitive scholarships for students “from disadvantaged backgrounds” seeking careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health. The program offers a scholarship, paid research training at NIH, and employment and post-graduation career training.

In order to qualify students must be enrolled full-time at an accredited 4-year undergraduate university and demonstrate financial need.

Betsy B. Woodward Scholarship

3 recipients, past awards made for $2,500

The Details: This scholarship is for students in their third year of college seeking a career in research, regulatory work, quality control, or teaching. The career must be related to food, drug, or consumer product safety. It is from AFDO, the Association of Food and Drug Officials.

NEHA/AAS Scholarship

Multiple recipients, past awards ranged between $2,650-$3,750

The Details: NEHA (National Environmental Health Association) and AAS (American Academy of Sanitarians) offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in “a dedicated and recognized curriculum in EH (environmental health) sciences.”

The award is for tuition and fees in the junior or senior year of college, and is also offered to graduate students.

TYLENOL Future Care Scholarship

Multiple recipients, past awards between $5,000-$10,000

The Details: The makers of TYLENOL award annual scholarships to well-deserving students who are pursuing careers in healthcare. They must be a graduate student or a college senior enrolling in graduate school. Past awards include 10 $10,000 scholarships and 25 $5,000 scholarships. The award can be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for the student’s course load.
