20 scholarships, Up to $5,000 per award

The Details: In order to apply for this scholarship you will need to have plans to attend a community, technical, or 4 year school as an undergraduate or graduate student.

You may use this scholarship for tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for the course load. The money can also be used for childcare that is needed for your classes.

Corvias Foundation Scholarships For Military Dependent Children

A four-year, up to $50,000 scholarship award

The Details: In order to apply for this scholarship you need to be a graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.0 cumulative unweighted GPA at the time of application & have plans to attend an accredited four-year college or university.

You also must be the child of an active duty service member stationed at one of the following places: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Bragg, Fort Meade, Fort Polk, Fort Riley, Fort Rucker, Fort Sill, Edwards AFB, Eglin AFB, Eielson AFB, Hurlburt Field, McConnell AFB, Seymour Johnson AFB.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union

One time Award, 12 scholarships, Between $2,500 – $10,000

The Details: The South Carolina Federal Credit Union offers $50,000 in scholarships each year to a total of twelve different students. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be planning to enroll in a traditional or specialized/technical college or university within the State of South Carolina for the fall 2019 semester. This is a one-time award, however previous winners are eligible to apply again.

Scholarships for Military Children Program

500 scholarships, Each for $2,000

The Details: This program is open to sons and daughters of active duty, reserve/guard, or retired military commissary customers. Recipient must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a four-year undergraduate college or university, accredited in the U. S or a two-year community college. They must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 basis. There will be at least one recipient selected at every commissary location where qualified applications are received, and additional recipients will be selected based on a prorate basis, so more applicants will be selected from those commissaries with larger numbers of applicants.

Army Scholarship Foundation

Awards range from $500 to $2000

The Details: The Army Scholarship Foundation has over 20 different scholarships that it awards to students on a one-time basis. Scholarship applicants will be considered for all available scholarships and need not designate a scholarship or scholarships for which they want to apply.

Applicants must be sons or daughters of regular active duty, active duty Reserve, or active duty National Guard U.S. Army members in good standing, or be spouses of serving enlisted regular active duty, active duty Reserve, or active duty National Guard U.S. Army members in good standing, or be sons or daughters of former U.S. Army members who received an honorable discharge or medical discharge, or who were killed while serving in the U.S. Army. They must also be high school seniors, high school graduates, or registered as undergraduate students at an accredited college or post high school vocational/technical institution, and have a 2.0 grade point average on a 4 point system.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

Scholarship awards vary

The Details: Applicants must be the child of one of the following:

-Active duty, reserve, or veteran U.S. Marine*

-A Marine killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps

-Active duty, reserve, or veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman who is/was attached to a U.S. Marine unit*

-A Navy Corpsman attached to a Marine unit that was killed while serving in the U.S. Navy.

*Veterans must have received an honorable discharge. Applicants must also have a GPA of at least 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale); Have a family adjusted gross income for the 2018 tax year that does not exceed $100,000. Non-taxable allowances are not included in the adjusted gross income; Must be attending or planning to attend a college or career training school listed on the National Center for Education Statistic’s College Navigator website in the 2019-20 academic year.

American Veterans National Scholarships

6 Children/Grandchildren Awards, $4,000 per award ($1,000 awarded annually over four years)

2 Veterans, Active Duty, Guard/Reserves Awards, $12,000 per award ($3,000 awarded annually over four years)

The Details: AMVETS awards two scholarships annually that are specific to Veterans, Active Duty, Guard/Reserves and two scholarships that are specific to children/grandchildren of Veterans, Active Duty, Guard/Reserves who are currently High School seniors.

Army Women’s Foundation

Awards range between $1,000 – $2,500

The Details: The Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program provides grants to women soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship Program offers financial support in four areas: Certificate programs, Community College coursework, Undergraduate Degrees, and Graduate Degrees. Scholarships are awarded only for coursework from accredited institutions. Scholarships are based on merit, academic potential, community service, letters of recommendation, and need. Applicants must be a woman who has served or is serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or the child of a woman who served honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard.

National Military Family Association Scholarships

The Details: Any spouse with a valid military ID is eligible for this scholarship. Scholarship funds can be used towards degrees, certifications, licensure, clinical supervision for mental health licensure, CEUs, business expenses and more.

The Pat Tillman Foundation Scholarships

Awards average around $10,000 annually

The Details: This scholarship assists with academic expenses, and can be used for tuition and fees, living expenses, and books. The following candidates may apply to become a Tillman Scholar:

  • Veteran and active-duty military service members
    • Pre-and post-9/11 service eras
    • From all branches of the U.S. Military including National Guard and Reserve
  • Current spouses of veterans or active-duty service members, including surviving spouses
  • Service members or spouses pursuing a degree as a full-time* student

Veterans United Foundation Scholarships

The Details: To be eligible for this scholarship award, applicants must be:

The Details: This scholarship identifies, recognizes, and rewards post-9/11 spouses/caregivers for their strength, fidelity, and resolve despite adversity. Folds of Honor Scholarships

Thousands of awards granted annually, Up to $5,000 awards per academic year

The Details: The Folds of Honor foundation has two types of scholarship programs that it offers; the Children’s Fund Scholarship that serves Kindergarten through 12th grade students and the Higher Education Scholarship that serves those seeking a first bachelor’s degree or a certification at a post-secondary institution. Both types of the Folds of Honor scholarships are based on “unmet need” as determined by documentation submitted by the awardee and can be valued up to $5,000.

Army Emergency Relief Scholarships

Spouse awards range from $500 – $2,200

Children awards range from $500 to $3,400

The Details: The Army Emergency Relief Scholarships are comprised of two different awards, one for spouses and one for children of Army soldiers. The Spouse Education Assistance Program is a need-based scholarship program established to assist Spouses of Army Soldiers in obtaining their undergraduate degree. Applicants must re-apply each year and may receive assistance for up to four academic years of full-time study or eight academic years of part-time study if they meet the eligibility criteria explained in the instructions below. The MG James Ursano Scholarship Program is a need-based scholarship program established to assist children of Army Soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degree. Applicants must reapply each year and may receive assistance for up to four academic years as long as they meet the eligibility criteria explained in the document below.

National Ranger Memorial Foundation Scholarships

The Details: Those who are eligible to apply for this scholarship are persons on active duty in the uniformed military services or honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel) of the Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom Operations (years 2004-present).

Recipients must be currently enrolled and attending classes in an undergraduate program part time or full time in an eligible STEM major degree program at an accredited four year college or university in the U.S.

The Details: Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Scholarships are available for college-level education of members of the AAAA, and the spouses, unmarried siblings, unmarried children and unmarried grandchildren of current and deceased AAAA members. Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund

The Details: The Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund is designed for qualifying family members of U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officers including spouses and children. Candidates submitting scholarship applications must:

  • be about to graduate or have graduated from an accredited high school, or equivalent educational institution or have successfully earned a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

The Folded Flag Foundation

The Details: The Folded Flag Foundation scholarships are specifically for college-bound military spouses and children. Eligible recipients must be the spouse (all ages) or child (under the age of 26) of:

Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund

The Details: These scholarships are awarded to the deserving sons and daughters of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Guardsmen whose parent died or is permanently disabled (100% VA Rating) as a result of a combat mission or training accident which caused an immediate inability to continue serving. Scholarships are awarded annually to full-time students enrolled in undergraduate studies at an accredited educational/technical institution. Scholarships are renewable for up to three years, providing that the recipient remains a full-time student and maintains a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
