BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) is an allowance for U.S.-based housing determined by location, pay grade, and dependency status. It provides service members housing compensation based on housing costs in local housing markets within the United States.

Are you a veteran looking to go to school?  In order to determine BAH (or Monthly Housing Allowance you would use the equivalent of paygrade E-5 with dependents for the school’s location.
